Treehouse

This project began with a simple idea: to create a playful retreat and a floating sanctuary for a client's grandchildren. Along the way, something deeper emerged the realization that the treehouse was not only for children, but also for the adults who would rediscover a sense of wonder through it.

Designing a treehouse holds within it a unique architectural dialogue between opposing forces: sky and earth, security and freedom, stability and suspension. It is an exploration of balance between the permanence of structure and the living, evolving presence of the tree itself.

More than a building, a treehouse is an emotional space. It evokes memories of childhood hideaways, secret worlds, and places where imagination shaped reality. It offers a rare opportunity to step outside the routines of everyday life and reconnect with curiosity, playfulness, and the simple joy of being elevated among the branches.

I often think of treehouses as jewelry within the landscape carefully crafted objects nestled among nature. And when evening falls, they transform once again, becoming luminous lanterns suspended in the garden, casting a warm glow and quietly inviting exploration.
