This wooden sculpture was inspired by one of the iconic animals of Durmitor National Park, combining thoughtful design with sustainable, hands-on making.

The project began with digital modeling and plans that defined the bear’s outline. The construction used only leftover wood from a local sawmill, giving new life to discarded material.

Through trial and error, each piece found its place — forming legs, arms, body, and face. The process was like assembling a 3D puzzle, with the figure gradually taking shape. Attention to angles and planes gave the sculpture a sense of movement and presence.

As the pieces came together, the bear emerged from the wood, a blend of careful design and natural expression, surprising in its energy and presence.
