The Renaissance Gallery was a unique photography project presented at the global Burning Man festival, constructed in the heart of the Nevada desert. Designed with museum-quality finishes in a Renaissance style, the gallery was an homage to both the festival's theme of the year—Renaissance—and was designed for artist’s, Pini Siluk on-self portrait photography project.
The gallery’s form was inspired by the golden ratio and the Vitruvian Man, as conceived by Leonardo da Vinci, symbolizing the relationship between humanity and the cosmos. The design drew on the Mundi Axis, representing the origin of existence and time, with humanity at its center—a fundamental idea of the Renaissance era.
Meticulously planned from Israel, the project incorporated American measurement standards and considered transportation limitations. The gallery was constructed and dismantled in a workshop in Los Angeles before being reassembled in the desert, transforming the ephemeral space into a lasting tribute to artistic and historical symbolism.
